(You may want to send your kids out of the room for this one)

Today, I celebrate the sense of touch. And, as would be expected, I do so ... with a list.

the feeling of:

soft denim on my thighs as I slip on a pair of jeans that FIT; warm, clean socks straight out of the dryer; chocolate melting on my tongue followed by the slight roughness of a strawberry; lotion on my skin during the winter; a hot shower during the winter; a cold shower during the summer (you know, when you're dizzy from the humidity and tired of being sweaty?); garter belt straps sliding to the outside of my thighs when I sit down; freshly shaven skin; clean sheets on clean skin; chenille; swimming (especially when the water is cool and the weather is hot); jammies; clean hair; cat fur (with the cat still in it, of course); stretching; being held; the myriad pleasures granted me by my partners, past and present.

Why, oh why, do I feel the need to share this? This is the way I cure depression. I find one thing to be happy about, then another, then another, and eventually I am happy again. All of these things have made me smile. I can remember all of these things with fondness and can even relive them if I concentrate. And so, like the crow in that fable, I drop memories ... one by one ... into the jar ... though it feels more like being able to climb out is my goal, not reaching what is at the bottom of the jar.

In other news, a friend of mine started giving me advice the other night. Could have popped him one. But I think he saw it in my expression because he changed the direction of the advice pretty quickly. Though I must say that I am proud of my reaction ... a strong boundary seems to have been built and is sticking. Cool.

*real time interlude*

OH MY GOD ... they should lable those things more appropriatly ... instead of "White chocolate, buttercream with mocha on a dark praline base" it should be same followed by ".5 oz orgasm, do not consume while in crowded area or anywhere you need to be quiet". Those what know me, and who reading this doesn't?, may wind up their Mommy fingers as soon as I'm done enjoying this. Aaaaaahhhhhh.

See? Things to be happy about.
